The Elder — Village at Sunset, Mukuni

Meet Zili….
When danger comes for Thor, it has to get through Zili first.
Some men protect you because it is their job. Zili protects Thor because he owes him his life.
In J. Rosvall’s Devil’s Pool, Book One, Zili is Thor Johansson’s trusted team member, protector and physical powerhouse. Towering, imposing and instantly intimidating, with a shaved, scarred head, Zili looks like a man built for confrontation. But his greatest weapon is not his strength. It is his awareness.
Quiet, observant and intensely loyal, Zili rarely wastes words. He watches. He listens. He notices the threat before others see it. He understands Thor almost without explanation, making him a natural shield in a world where danger can emerge without warning.
Years earlier, Thor saved Zili from a crocodile. That moment forged a loyalty that runs deeper than friendship. Since then, Zili has remained fiercely committed to protecting Thor and those under his care.
His physical strength, combat ability, security experience, situational awareness and river skills make him an essential member of the team. Whether navigating the unpredictable Zambezi, dealing with dangerous situations or facing the criminal forces closing in around them, Zili is often the first line of defence.
But being Thor’s protector comes at a price. Every threat directed at Thor becomes a threat Zili is prepared to face himself.
Working alongside Steve, Hugh and the wider team, Zili becomes more than muscle. He is the team’s silent early-warning system — the man watching when everyone else is looking elsewhere.
In the dangerous world of Devil’s Pool, loyalty can be tested. Zili’s is not.
